‘Silent Worship’ Mime Team
Hi my name is Pamela Wylie I lead Armagh Elim churches Mime team.

Pamela with one of her daughters
Armagh Elim’s mime team commenced in 2006, when I was asked to put
together a group mime for the ladies annual event ‘Seasons’ and
since then we have put together a number of mimes which have been used in
Church services and each member has developed from strength to strength with
each mime. We also do mime at different outreach events associated with the
Church and other Churches.
Mime is just one of the many ways that we can worship our great big God. It is not a performance in front of people but a ‘silent’ version of worship. When I hear a fantastic praise or worship song, I automatically picture in my head how I would mime to it. Some people love to worship God vocally, for me, I love closing my eyes and miming worship unto God and getting lost in his amazing presence.
Before choosing a song for a Church service, I pray that God would tell me what the right song would be so as that it would tie in with what He wants to say at that particular service. A lot of time and practice goes into a group mime so as to synchronise each movement.
One particular event that stands out is the ‘Christmas Carols by mime’. For this event, we started practicing during the Summer! Imagine listening to Silent Night in the middle of July! But each of us did and this was an extraordinary night! Here are a couple of photos from that night.

Anyone is welcome to join the mime team as long as they have a personal relationship with God and have a heart that wants to worship him through mime.
