Missions
Zimbabwe
Elim has a long history in Zimbabwe going back to the days
of Rhodesia. The country has many challenges with its soaring rate of inflation.
The National Leader is Pious Munembe who works alongside Geoff and Erica
Saunders. Elim has 55 churches and two mission stations. One at Penhalonga
with a church, a primary school of over 400 children and residential school
of 25 for the hearing and speech impaired. Katere has a primary school of
900, a residential secondary school of 750 and a 75 bed hospital.
This year is the 30th Anniversary of Vumba Massacre where 9 Elim Missionaries
and 4 of their children were brutally martyred.
Zambia
Elim’s workers here are Gordon & Sybil McKillop and Andrew & Lyn Ramsey. They are supporting a developing work in this needy country.
ZAMBIA TRIP 2007
In the Autumn of 2007 Mission Director Ray Cotter led a team to Zambia.
The team of 4 young men from Armagh Elim along with the Armagh Church had
been fundraising to finance the building of a Pre- Nursery School room at
Ndola. The folks said it would not be possible to build the school in 2 weeks.
However from early morning to dark the team worked tirelessly and all that
was left to do was to plaster the building. Walls were up, windows were put
in and the roof was on. Andrew & Lyn Ramsey were thrilled and this was
another major addition to the site of the H.Q Church.
The site has the church building plus a block of rooms for the Bible School
where Pastor Chelua is the principal along with Andrew & Lyn Ramsey as
lecturers. There is also a shop on the site selling Christian books & bibles
and some light groceries to help support the young lady who runs the shop.
There is also a workshop where young men train in carpentry skills. It is
hoped to extend this project and help young men become more self supporting.
It is hoped to further extend the complex by building a second block onto
the Bible School and possibly build a block of housing for poor, old people.
There are many elderly folks in Zambia who are just left to beg for an existence.
The church feel that this is a challenge and a real area of need

Congo
Elim’s workers here is Debbie Howard who supports the strong church in Congo with many humanitarian projects such as street children.
Malawi

For 4 years NI has been giving major support to establish good infrastructure. Elim have over 230 churches as well as many orphanages and other projects etc. The work in Malawi is led by Martin Andiseni.
Mozambique
Elim’s workers are Gregory & Sharon Kane. Mozambique is Elim NI newest mission field. Pastor Ray Cotter, Irish Missions Director has taken responsibility for this field and Elim in Ireland is supporting the Kane family.
Mozambique is an extremely poor country which has a number of Elim works from the various fields around it. We have a desire and plan to develop this poor country.
South Africa
Elim has worked for many years with the Emmanuel Assemblies of South Africa who have over 250 churches.
Swaziland
is one of our newest doors of opportunity. We are involved in joint projects with Teen Challenge to help the victims of aids. It is said that if aids is not brought under control by 2040 Swaziland will be wiped out. Swaziland is a small but desperately needy country with one of the highest rates of HIV infection in the world. The World Health Organisation has predicted that the country will be extinct by 2050 if the current rate of infection is not changed. In this country we work with Teen Challenge which is run by Kevin Ward. Elim support their projects working with AIDS orphans. Youth teams visit every year from NI and work teams are also going out. Each year two 40ft containers of aid are sent.
